One day, a monkey was bored at home. Monkey mom gave it a task to go outside and find some food to bring back home. So, the little monkey hopped and jumped happily as it set off. As it walked, it saw a banana tree full of bananas. Excitedly, it climbed the tree, picked a banana, and ate it while continuing forward. Soon after, it came across a cornfield. It threw away the unfinished banana, picked two ears of corn, and walked on. The little monkey happily hummed a tune as it went along. Suddenly, a peach tree appeared before its eyes. The little monkey's eyes lit up, it threw away the corn in its hands, and ran to the peach tree to pick and eat peaches.
And so, the little monkey kept walking, eating, and throwing things away until the sun was about to set. It ended up with nothing in its hands, an empty stomach, and the task given by its mother was not completed. Feeling dejected, the little monkey lowered its head and walked back. At that moment, it happened to pass by the elephant's home and saw an elephant carrying a whole basket of bananas back home, ready to have dinner with its family. The little monkey finally understood that when doing something, one must not be half-hearted; only by being focused and dedicated can things be done well.
After returning home, the little monkey admitted its mistake to its mother and promised to learn from the elephant in the future—to be focused and dedicated in doing things, to earnestly complete the tasks given by its mother, and to be a good child.
